Marine Park Overpass

A new entrance for the Cascade Locks Marine Park

The Port is working in close partnership with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to complete the engineering and permitting stage of a new Marine Park entrance for non-motorized visitors. The new overpass will offer an attractive pedestrian and bicycle connection from the downtown corridor to the Marine Park. The Port Commission reviewed multiple design options for this proposed facility, and approved the design concept show to the right after receiving public comment.  The overpass over the Union Pacific Railroad is necessary because the current condition is unsafe for bicycles and pedestrians forced to share a narrow underpass tunnel with all sizes of vehicles. This project received 2006 funding from the Federal Highway Administration SAFETEA-LU program.
