he region enjoys a temperate seasonal climate. Proximity to the Columbia River povides for moderate winters with minimal days below freezing. The “Gorge Winds” are famous in this region and perfect for summer sailing. The area receives approximately 70 inches of rainfall during the months of October through May. Light accumulations of snow occur in January, February and March. The months of July and August in Cascade Locks can be quite hot with high temperatures reaching up to 90 plus degrees Fahrenheit.
